hi all any ideas of dates for this pearl pin brooch, almost 2 1/2" long.. it's base is silver tone but looks like it was painted gold on leaves? push pin clasp? I thought I seen a marking on the pin part but?? 2019-01-24-21-16-14.jpg 2019-01-24-21-17-02.jpg

That's a trombone clasp, which typically means European: French or German possibly. 1960s I suspect.

What looks like gold paint is actually gilding with a slightly rough, stippled effect, can't find the term right now. Underneath the gilding is probably base silvertone material, as you already thought.
My guess is Germany, and I'm with obb on 1960s. I have a German brooch which could be by the same maker, a similar overall execution, and one of those fluted cups for a single faux pearl, in my case. It was considered quality costume in the 60s.

I can't recall the term either. Could be one of the Pforzheim makers, I've similar marked ones. Quality indeed: they use semi precious stones often.

This is mine, I just took the photo on the back of a book, it doesn't do it justice:

The back, also a trombone clasp, and you can just see that the crystals in the swirl have an open-back setting like on your brooch, nice detail.

It is a similar style. Does yours have an HB mark in a circle on the back? Looks like there is a tiny circle on the lower leaf in the last photo. You may have to use a loupe.
