Joan Miró original No 17/40 Lithograph??

I know nothing about art? Can someone assist please and thanks for your time

Thanks, the one I have is very large. The print alone measures 15x20inches. The frame makes it much larger.

 

have you removed it from the frame? Just wondering what paper it is on, like arches, etc....once you find the title, it makes it a lot easier to find what edition it is from and the value.

 

Also, the OP series is written in Roman numerals?

 

Roman numerals frequently designate a print as "deluxe". If so, it should, at the least, be on very high quality paper. Sadly, it's not unimaginable that someone would reproduce such a print... numbers, siggy and all... and modern reproductions can be very convincing. Not to say that's the case here. If it is a reproduction, there ought to be others out there with the exact same number.

Checking the paper might help, especially if there is a watermark.

I have to be a doomsayer but Miró's work is so widely faked that the chances of yours being genuine are almost nil.

I bought this Vladimir Cora from the same Collection, this is a very rare valuable painting. Along with a original Tie fang Jiang gouache . So the quality of the art is there, and highly convincing this is a genuine print

 

I wish you very good luck in proving it so.

This one is from same series, No. 17 also. The framing probably cost 400$ just to frame them

 

I think you may have a real one on your hands. Looks right to me.

 

This is mostly a comparison of signatures..........each is stated from where: Seems like the bottom is most likely the fake! Top two are pretty identical!!!

 

Don't worry about the signature, this is handwriting and will vary slightly from piece to piece - especially if you're in a room signing your name eighty times in a row!

Size is more relevant, also paper type. I have no doubt this is right.
