I just bought this from an antique dealer friend.

Edwardian mahogany filing or music cabinet
    50" tall 20" wide
    Tambour / roller lockable door.
Its not been touched, original condition
    It has 6 sliding shelves.

I'm going to use it as another coin cabinet.

However it is storing my insect collection for now.

Nice!! I THOUGHT you were going to say "storing more coins"!!! And I thought they were thinner drawers!!

It will be for coins, I have to buy some more trays to fit on the shelves.

Cool! How sturdy are those shelves? Trays loaded with silver coins are surprisingly heavy.

I remember you showed us some of your bugs, which were wonderful. Glad they have this beautiful bug home. I could see a lot of uses in my house for this. Great hardware and doesn't take up a lot of space.

Tambour doors are way cool, especially if old & in good condition. I foolishly left an early 20th century kitchen cabinet that had one in a house i sold once, regretted it ever since.

What kind of insects do you collect?

    @Ghopper1924
Its more a collection that I adopted, found in a house clearance.
I've kept the ones shown but sold about 50 others.
US Quarter added for size comparison.

Was never a bug lover - until I spent some time on YouTube. It started as a "study" of someone who had just started a YouTube channel (he happens to raise tarantulas and other invertebrate) just to watch his process/progress with YouTube (not spiders). As is usual with my fickle mind, I found the Bug-everse fascinating and have taken to watching a number of ant/spider/reptile/bug channels. Still don't want most of them around, but its interesting...............

What if some of these specimens are just in a very long hibernation?;) On the other hand you could put the coins under the bugs as a anti theft deterrence.

Thanks dave. Fierce. Is that a bullet ant? Supposed to be the most painful sting on the planet...just like being shot. I hope never to find out.....

Per James, I actually do collect butterflies.

Joe actually has a very good idea. Unless you happen to get a thief stoned out of his mind on some substance or other who sees those bugs and thinks a) COOL! and b) lunch.(LOL)

I do like bugs and spiders as long as they aren't biting or feeding on me! I have a lovely garden spider outside my back door right now and I can usually find a black widow spider if I go looking for one....they are beautiful. Was watching a walking stick just this morning.....cool bugs.

I just love watching them too. Some so graceful like ballet dancers; other like tiny tanks - all around us doing their bug business.

"love the one with the big lobster claws and the 8 legs. Totally fierce."
