Hoping someone can ID this mark. Knowing the year would be helpful.

    Thanks In advance IMG_20180206_132057-640x460.jpg IMG_20180206_132248-640x460.jpg

That's the decorator's mark and not the company.

    Guessing
1930s to 50s copy of French inkwell. Either German or Japanese.

Wait for others more knowledgeable - as I said, I'm guessing

    Hi,
It is an ink STAND not a well. A single ink well has a bottom and a top. When there are two of them plus a place to lay the pen. It is an ink stand.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

The terms “hand decorated” and “hand made” came in to use at the end of World War II and was popular usage in the 1950’s. The words were used to spur consumer buying. It infers that objects made by hand were superior or more valuable than objects decorated by machines. This is not the case but it helped to stimulate the economy and sell European and Asian products to the U.S. market in the shadow of a devastating war.

Again that is the decorator's mark.
I think that the porcelain may have come from Germany.

notice the incised numbers from the link provided by SIS
    upload_2018-2-10_7-35-24.png

Also the feathering on the ink well/stand is more German/Japan than American.
Of course, that is only my opinion, and I've been known to be wrong.

It doesn't really explain the manufactured in Ohio mark they say is on the lid though unless that's also a decorator mark. It's a shame it isn't visible.

If you read that listing carefully, it doesn't say it is actually marked Sebring, Ohio. They could have assumed it was made there if they are thinking Bethwood Royal China is a line of Royal China. I don't think it is, but it gets us no closer to any information about the Bethwood mark.

I tried to locate my Lerners to see if there is any info on the mark but it seems to be hiding. I wonder if the seller is using the "Royal China" which is a pottery in Sebring, Ohio as the source of that info.

This site shows many Royal China marks and Bethwood isn't on there.

We're all nerds of one sort or another. Some of us are also geeks. We are not however those crappy hard candy bits marketed under the Willy Wonka name. Those are wonky.

I'm can't tell whether this is yours or another one:

Unfortunately, when I go to the page where it is supposed to be, I am being shown something completely different first, then an endless page with seemingly every piece of antique/vintage porcelain ever made. Passed several ink stands/inkwells while scrolling down, but ran out of patience. This is described as Vintage Bethwood Royal China Inkwell c. 1940 in the info that comes with the search result.
