    Please take a look anyways.....

Some of the overlay metal is broken off....likely strong arm cleaning lady who never cared cuz it wasn't her stuff...
I doubt taking it apart would reveal much....
There's a couple of smalllll marks under the base..but ??
    Oh...& I have a pair... IMG_1578.JPG IMG_1579.JPG IMG_1581.JPG IMG_1580.JPG IMG_1582.JPG

A few ideas. I would like to see the entire piece including shade (is there a finial?) Also, if not re-wired, sometimes the plug can help with dating so include a photo of the plug as well.

I would say this is a high quality lamp. The metal work is really gorgeous, and excellent that you have a pair.

I agree with Lucille, this lamp has quality and is a bonus to have a pair.

reminds me of a few Russian vases I had in the past. But decoration and stand is more French?

That looks like a finial to me, with handmade silk shades.
Someone loved those lamps! I do too. :cat:

I thought a finial had to be more ornate than just a brass screw on knob....:hilarious:

They seem to be overkill with this kind of lamp.

They are not my taste but folks did indeed value them......
( could have been Mom who sought out those shades )

Yeah, I thought they were glass. Forget-me-not flowers? Shades are rather large, but I can see someone wanting a pretty pair for a bedroom. Getting a 1950s/60s vibe for date.
