Found this interesting item at a garage sale this weekend. Looks quite old to me. Lamp shade? If so, for what type of lamp? It’s glass, so I’m surprised heat from a flame or lightbulb hasn’t cracked it, as there’s no hole to allow it to escape. Anyway, whatever it is, I love the colours and pattern!

I am wondering if a wooden base could not be made for it . With LED lights it would not build up heat inside. Teak or walnut would go nicely. I think any one that turns would could make one. Lamp parts are sold .

I'd sit it on one of the little lightboxes made for displaying paperweights. You can get wooden ones, which would work well.
