Not saucy at all.:joyful: I copied this from my Bali Art Deco thread: Dewi Ratih in the jaws of Kala Rau. One day the demon Kala Rau wanted to drink from the Tirta Amerta or the spring of eternal life (Sanskrit Amrita, the nectar of immortality), which is reserved for the Gods. He was seen by Dewi Ratih, the Goddess Dewi in her aspect as Goddess of the night and the moon. Dewi Ratih quickly warned the God Vishnu, guardian of the spring. Vishnu arrived just as Kala Rau took his first sip. Vishnu threw his cakra (disc) at the demon and decapitated him. Kala Rau’s body died, but the head, which had touched the Tirta Amerta, became immortal. Ever since, the angry head of Kala Rau follows Dewi Ratih on her voyage across the night sky, seeking revenge. Occasionally he catches up with her, and tries to swallow her, but she always manages to escape. When Dewi Ratih disappears in Kala Rau’s mouth, we have a lunar eclipse. When she escapes, the moon appears again. https://www.antiquers.com/threads/bali-art-deco-thread.30201/#post-399708
