A high neckline was considered &#039;decent&#039;.</p><p>That was Japanese culture of the day, not my judgement. Personally I quite like evening dresses with some of the neck and upper back showing, and have worn them on occasion.</p><p>Fact is that a geisha&#039;s job was to attract and entertain, even &#039;enchant&#039; men. One of the ways to achieve that was the way they dressed.</p><p><br /></p><p>I didn&#039;t call you nor anyone else here by any name and resent that you claim that I did. I wasn&#039;t even aware you had a different opinion. I thought you simply wanted to know how to tell the difference between a geisha and a regular Japanese woman.
