Featured large stone? carved cameo

    Charlie, you can try and avoid further deterioration by storing it with a few of those silica gel bags, the ones you get in vitamin jars etc. (You do take your vitamins, don't you?:nurse::joyful:)
    Silica gel absorbs the gases that cause deterioration. Activated carbon does as well.

    And since you can't really do anything to lower the value, maybe seal her with some clear nail varnish? Just a thought.

    I'd be wary of this. Can see the varnish contracting as it dries & pulling off the layer under it.

    From her nose? I mean the outside.:shame:

    Maybe Renaissance Wax could help, but with early plastics it is often best to seal it so the gases can't escape. Of course you'd need to know which early plastic it is if you really want to conserve it, rather than experiment.
