Featured large thick sterling cross necklace help

bought this as a bit of a treat from a charity shop. was £15 so not exactly a bargain

quite a nice size though with a long chain

pendant measure 2 1/2 inches and quite thick

cant make out the maker or region, is it london, or a shield ?

probably not that old

any help appreciated
