Late Victorian genre painting. Who's the artist ?

    It could very easily be a ball partially under that piece of paper, or it could well be a “cloaked” signature! The ball is the only discernible part of that rug! I’d LOVE to be able to look carefully across the lower portion of that picture..... close up and clear!!!!!

    You wont find the artist period. Why? Its because this painting was done by someone who copied a old photo or something along those lines. There is no signature on this painting from what i can see. Looking at the girl certain parts of her lack detail. Look at the back of her hair where it meets her back. It just stops. Other parts on her are decent looking but its not by a highly skilled artist in my opinion. Most likely by someone who had some training but not highly skilled.

    If one is determined to have a library in the painting, Spitzweg's, The Bookworm would do very nicely. :)
