Hello! Can anyone share more information on Lazarus Jewelers, Inc. ? I have a ring with their maker's mark and I would like to know more about them. It's a 14k yellow gold ring with an amethyst heart-shaped cabochon top and faceted underside. I bought it online from someone in Massachusetts.

I found many pieces of jewelry bearing LJ* maker's mark on eBay and their style is very unique and luxurious. These pieces I noticed are well crafted and are priced very high. They work with different type of gemstones and I see pieces in silver and in 14k gold.

Most pieces I found are sold in the US and in the east coast. Here are some listings online.

I found this this page with info on their trademark, but not much on their history. I would love to learn more about them if anyone can share their knowledge.

I was able to find the following on line in a regular google search so I apologize if you already know this. Apparently, this was a one generation company that sold good quality jewelry with fresh, interesting designs. It was located in New York.

    Lazarus Jewelers, NYC:
Led by Theodore "Ted" Lazarus, this company was active from 1945 until 1987, specializing in quality pieces and holding trademarks for charms, rings, and brooches from 1959.

Ted Lazarus: President of the NYC firm, which sold to Wideband in 1987.

Obit. from 2006: Theodore (Ted) Lazarus, 81, died June 21 in Princeton, N.J., as a result of complications from open-heart surgery. Lazarus was president of Lazarus Jewelers in New York City from 1945 until 1987 when the company was sold to Wideband. He served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Donna Lazarus; a sister, Phyllis Kane, and her husband, Herbert; his grandchildren, Alexis and Matthew; and his companion, Brenda Glasberg.
