Lead pewter soldier

    Here's a recent £1 bargain. I don't have much info about it really, including manufacturer or year made. It says that it is the 300th anniversary of the formation of the regiment. Not sure if the numbers in the date are 3s or 8s. I'm leaning towards 8s which would make it 1988. I thought it would have been made earlier however.

    Looks like the kind of collectable you could buy in a series from the colour supplements in the Sunday papers in the 80's.

    I did find this regarding the ABPC in the circle:

    Association of British Pewter Craftsmen, England
    Formed in 1970 to promote British Pewter Industry.

    I've just looked thanks. I think it's actually got the signature on the base which I thought was just grass.

    Scroll down the page on the document below for the ABPC mark. There's some other information about the other marks used by the org. One of which is a seahorse that resembles the mark on your piece. Here is the document->
