Can anyone give me info on this? Looks like number is 873 or 973 20230716_105929.jpg 20230716_110023.jpg . I found history on the company. Just trying to figure out how to date this machete.

All I know is it was made about 25 miles from my house. Collinsville, CT. The factory is now an antiques mall!

I know the factory shut down around 1966 and they had been producing since 1800s. Well known for the machete. I think trademark was purchased when they closed. I just haven't found details on if this is pre or post 1966.

Collins also made some of their machetes outside of the US, Mexico and Guatamala, but they were not of the quality of the US made examples.

I did read that but I THINK those, at least some of them, were stamped with the actual location they were made? Or did some of those also falsely state Made in USA?
