Limited Edition Portfolio?

I recently acquired this piece by accident. I don't normally deal with any type of art. I did some research but there is not much out there. Has anyone seen anything like this before? They are all signed and numbered. 300 in the edition. 8 prints altogether. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There seems to be a fair amount of information about this artist and his work available via a Google search. Here's a portfolio like yours, for instance. (Unfortunately, I don't have a WorthPoint subscription.)

I wonder how many of these prints were actually produced? The OP's set says it's an edition of 300, whereas the edition on Worthpoint says 500.
