Little belt buckle (Art Deco?)

    Fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing your memories. Nothing better than first hand information. I do suspect that all sorts of cape clasps get classified as "nurses buckles" even though they were never worn as such.

    Quite possibly, although the cape clasps would well predate this lovely reminiscence. I saw some at the museum but I can't find an image online.

    My initial thought was that there was degradation caused by using an inferior mould. I. E. Someone made a negative from an existing object. Just a guess.

    Another possibility. Copy of a copy, one way or the other. I think of it as the Xerox effect.
