Little bit of help required please

    Hi guys I have a question that you lot maybe able to help me with I have a painting maybe a copper plate print it has two artist names on it David cox 1849 and A brunet debaines 1879 it is also signed by debaines then on back it has Thomas McLean on it so bit confused with it so any help would be greatly appreciated received_727665648083594.jpeg received_318266182687972.jpeg received_1434171863638945.jpeg received_2681671268744290.jpeg received_300081847758344.jpeg

    What I would like to know is why is there 3 different names on it because its confusing the hell out of me also its got Clwyd on it as well

    David Cox (there’s an elder and younger) would have painted the original painting and then Debaines would have been the engraver that made the plate that produced your print. The label McLean on the back is as it says, the seller, publisher, dealer.

    Clwyd is a county in Wales, it is named after the River Clwyd

    The David Cox’s seemed to paint lots of sheep herders, so likely Welsh sheep.

    Careful you don't eat some sheep's currants when fishing on the Clwyd.

    Also on the back which we just found out it has d cox elder signature but it was under the backing paper that is breaking apart received_317754059377834.jpeg
