You don't need to sell on abebooks. They will be found if you sell on ebay. If they were mine, I'd sell together, not individually (as that's the way they started out life.) Condition of yours looks quite good. If you like, we can help you with some book condition terms for your listing. In meantime, treat carefully. Especially the bindings which appear to be relatively unworn, unmarked.

I wonder how it was gifted in 1869, published 1870?
    It would be abbreviated
    Clara McKinley

    The book
yeah, I saw that, maybe it was like cars after a certain point in the year they would date it the following year? Also what is the name in the front above Brooklyn?

Sorry, I’m not understanding that word, either.

It is Pitt something. There is an inscription at the top of the title page that says "Clara McKinley from Uncle Pitt" and I assume that is the same person whose name is above the word "Brooklyn."

If you have any book condition terms that would be awesome!

I use this resource. Among things buyers will be interested to know are: 1) Description of boards (ex. "red cloth with gilt decoration,") 2) Condition of boards (e.g. stained/unstained,) 3) Condition of spine (e.g. solid/loose,) 4) Condition of paper (e.g. foxing/discoloration due to age,) 5) Condition of pages (e.g. marked/unmarked,) 6) Number and condition of illustrations.) Important information: 1) complete 2 volume set and 2) early editions. Inscriptions not a problem as they're period; just disclose and include photographs. I'm not a professional bookseller so someone more knowledgable is welcome to add/expand/correct the above. Until they do, it's enough to get you started. Oh, and if they were mine and I were listing on eBay I'd list them as an auction (with free priority shipping) rather than as a BIN and let market determine value. (But my opening bid would be fairly high.)
