I saw this and I HAD to have it. It is a small ladies chair, I believe. It is pink vinyl with gold flecks. It was made by Custom & Modern Upholstering Co. In Gardner, MA. It came from the same house as the Adrian Pearsall chairs.

The vinyl is discolored in some places. I haven't really tried too hard to clean it yet, but when I do, what should I use?

Ha ha - never thought of that - although I had to clean about 50 vinyl chairs a couple years ago, and vinyl cleaner didn't work. I must have erased that horrible experience from my mind when I asked this question. I think I ended up using Windex and spray cleaner with bleach, but those didn't really work well either. I had to scrub, and scrub, and scrub. I swear that's how I got carpal tunnel syndrome.

Oxiclean spray? Or Oxiclean powder mixed with hot water?

I imagine either - but I was thinking about the spray.

Remember to test an out of sight spot first!

When you do the whole chair, remember not to wet it too much at one time - and keep wiping.
You don't want water to soak into the edges too much.

But Johnny - the best thing about it is the pink gold flecked vinyl. :arghh:

It's hilarious - these guys kept saying to me "but you gave us $200 for the other ones! You said you really liked this one!"
I replied "Just because I like something doesn't mean it's worth a lot."
I ended up paying them $25 for it - way more than it's worth, because I HAD to have it.:hilarious:

    Hi Book,
I've had good results with Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom spray. I had a red vinyl banquette in my old kitchen, it was faded a bit but at least it was clean. One of the best curb finds.

You could try those 'magic eraser' sponges...I don't use them for everything, but they do come in handy.

    Hi,
I would be careful with magic erasure. They use a very strong grit, like on sand paper to clean. I would be afraid it would take the shine off of old vinyl.

the 'magic erasers' I'm thinking about are those soft white sponges...no grit on those.

    Hi Cartoongirl,
Those white magic eraser sponges have micropore grit that is why they clean and disappear. They made from crushed diatoms (single cell animal with calcium carbonate shell). The sharp edges of the broken shells cut through the dirt. I use them to "sand" between layers of varnish on furniture.

    On vinyl?
I would think that would not be a great idea.
