I've just purchased a lovely creamer that I 'now' believe is an early Coalport, It has no back mark, but does have a pattern number N2257.

I have attributed it to Coalport by virtue of a cup that claims it's pedigree by attribution without mention the source; but there is a registration number that equates to 18th April 1850, and pattern number 5/980. I read somewhere that Coalport spasmodically used back marks after 1835 and regularly from 1845.

    Opinions sought. Thank you.
