Donna, those enamel rings were popular in the 1970s. They were imported from Thailand.

More commonly they had floral motifs.

Are they enamel? Not magnetic and this one gold tone ? Comfortable wearing inside is kind rounded not flat.

I also thought they were enamel rather than cloisonné. Costume jewelry not fine. Usually silvertone but, if yours is not, it may be brass.

IIRC they made both sterling and costume.

It seems very good quality but no markings. If that's the case I'm saying silver, feels like it..thank you

Maybe you mean champlevé rather than cloisonné? Both are enamelling techniques.

I didn't mean either! My knowledge doesn't run to either champlevé or cloisonné but thought someone was sure to correct me if I wrote "enamel" so hedged my bets. :)

    They are both enamel. :)
Cloisonné is when metal wires are soldered to a metal surface and the piece is enamelled in between the wires.
Champlevé is when a design is cut out of a metal surface, and certain lines are left high. Then enamel is applied in the cut out parts, just like in cloisonné. These Thai rings are champlevé enamel.

How kind of you to provide me with a mini-tutorial, Any Jewelry. Scrolling back above to re-read again in the hopes I can retain.

Oh, that's easy! One adds and one subtracts. Got it.

    Thanks again --
