Featured Lusterware creamer - spotted

    I've dubbed this decoration "Petri dish" :) Is this English? Japanese maybe? Just curious where it might be from. Thanks again! About 3 1/2" high.

    :hilarious: It does look like it. No viruses, so I'm not bothered.
    Unusual colour too, and very nice shape.

    Yes, pink sunderland lustre. I believe it was splashed with oil to get that effect. I am searching my old brain to see if I can remember if it has a special name.

    I had a Noritake vase with this finish,for what its worth.Still do,somewhere in that hell that is my spare room !

    Thanks Johnny - yeah it seemed to me that it could be Japanese - still not sure if it's Sunderland but I'm leaning towards that rather than Noritake/japanese because of the weight of it.

    IIRC, the decoration is called oil spot...which Sunderland used, but I’m not positive this is Sunderland.

    Me either. I've not seen Sunderland with that all over spot and the colour looks wrong.

    Sunderland does not seem to have glaze on bottom as this does. Maybe google search using ‘style of Sunderland ‘
