Hi - I would like to find out what I have here (type of wood, style, manufacturer, value). It is one of the pieces of furniture that I inherited that I would like to sell. It's a mahogany (?) drop leaf formal dining table in very good condition. It's been in the family for probably over 50 years. Thanks!

    Hi - I forgot to give the dimensions. They are 55" long x 38 5/8" wide x 28 3/4" high.

I think your table dates to the mid to late 1800s.
Wait for other comments - People come and go all day so be sure to check back.

Looks like an american empire mahogany table. Probably mid 1800s.

    Actually, - Shorter people.

I would give the table a light cleaning and oil it. Will make it look better, and get a little better price.

Hi - I'm amazed! Thank you all for your comments and information. I was requested to provide some pictures of the underneath, so here they are! I also would love to find out what I might be able to sell the piece for and where. Thanks!

    (I'm in New York City.)

I so much appreciate the note about it being a lovely piece. Thank you!

A nice older piece.....but it looks like there are some condition issues & brown furniture is a very depressed market at the moment.
That said drop leafs are very useful....& you have a large audience .
