I did not know there was a Colt ‘Baby Paterson’. This weapon is surely named for Paterson New Jersey where I assume it was made for that is where the huge Colt factory was. I also assume there is a Colt simply named the Paterson?
Side note: Paterson was the site of the beginnings of the ‘industrial revolution’ in the US and essentially begun by Alexander Hamilton’s interest in that probability.
The beautiful Great Falls were utilized to produce electricity and they still do though the visible areas have quite a bit of ice on them now.
I’ve been there a few times and love to see them.
Paterson is also where Lou Costello, of the comedy team of Abbott and Costello, was born.
There is a statue of him in a park downtown. There was a Abott and Costello museum on the campus of Montclair State University just down the road from NY Yankee catcher Yogi Berra’s museum also on the campus. The A&C museum has closed and I believe the collection will now be housed at the Paterson museum which, I think, it always should have been.
The museum is worth seeing as it also houses one of the early submarines’ designed by Holland.

King.....I went back and copied the whole listing, which wasn't long for the Baby Paterson:

"This Colt #1 Baby Paterson cased revolver, serial number 458, with a German silver front sight and engraved in script along the top of the barrel “Patent Arms Mg Co. Paterson N.J.-Colt’s Pt.,” estimated at $25,000/35,000, sold for $40,250."

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

The James D. Julia company website also includes the full catalog and all the results of that auction, and other past auctions. No need to post from a secondary publication unless you want to read the article that appeared. Just a hint! :) Might save a lot of trouble.
