I think they have been reproduced. I had this pig pitcher that was based on a Sarreguemines model, but there are differences:

You need to find a Barbotine monkey pitcher that is reliably attributed, and check the details carefully. I'm not quite sure how to do that. This is one instance where I think the bottom treatment is important (but not the only detail to check). The bottom on mine was different from the bottom on yours:

Well, I've had such a weird day - some good, some rotten - and not done rearranging my universe to fit in file drawers that'll hopefully get at least my papers in order...

So I'm glad I had this little pitcher (and Bronwen's plaque) to keep me company all day. Who knew, absinthe jug?!

    Even if {probably?} a repro, I think he's pretty neat, obviously :)

I think it is the usual case where someone sees one listing and copies it, and then someone else copies it, and so it continues without anyone ever doing the research on the item.
It is a cool jug Aaron:) Is the bottom dry/unglazed on it?

I'm not an expert but I think this one in your link scoutshouse is real, turquoise glaze inside

The bottom on mine is unglazed yes. I definitely think a lot of the listings are just copy paste info. Stupid internet! Mine seems to be exactly like this one on chairish from what I can see:

Agreed about finding one that has been reliably attributed. 1stdibs and Etsy are NOT that.

The question is, when were they reproduced? I mean, when the heck

I'm guessing (knowing nothing about SARREGUEMINES Majolica) bottoms will be glazed and marked.
