Hi All.Bought this painting over 15 years ago at a local Antique Furiture Salesroom. It was listed as a "mixed media painting of a forest scene,by Mallinson". Size 20" x 16".I really liked it and I believe it was 150 euros at the time. There was also another woodland scene by the same artist but it did not have the same vibe for me as this one had.I did a little research at that time ,and I believed it may have been by Pat Mallinson British female artist. Recently while rearranging paintings,I took another look on Internet re (Mallinson Artist) and now believe that my initial attribution to Pat Mallison is incorrect.I am now of the opinion that it may be by Constance Mallinson American artist,as her intrest in decaying woodland scenes. I always thought that it had a more sinister edge to the painting ,than just decaying tree trunks, that the middle bottom tree trunk resembles a decayed ankle or foot with part or a shoe in front of it.Also that the lighter area in front of this resembles a body laying across it,and in the middle top of painting in the trees is an owls head or face of a person, and the night sky resembles a wintry windy stormy night.Or is ( My imagination getting the better of me)Hope some one can help identifying which Mallinson is the artist, and your thoughts on what you see in the painting ???????.
