Both carry the same number sequence? But not quite life-sized, are they? (In which case, not mannequin heads.)

They are life size i think 30 cm high and have consecutive numbers 23797 and 24797 and in black number 11 and 12.

They look like they could be quite heavy. Are they? Also, are the bottoms essentially flat?

From the square socket on the bottom, it looks like they were supported on a square post, either of wood or metal. The holes around the edge may have been used to attach clothes, rather than attaching the heads to a mannequin body. Perhaps they were heads for some type of effigy?

yes it could be that the heads are form a procession figure like a holy person. like this one: https://chrisholmesantiques.co.uk/p...al-madonna-late-18th-slash-early-19th-century

Very interesting idea (although Mary is typically depicted with anguish.)

Could be Catalan gegant heads. They’re European.

Parades do include smaller child sized figures.

Given the crossed 7, I would assume they're European. What country were they found in?
