Featured Mano Figa pendant

Trying to figure out what this is made of, it looks very black and dense but when I hold it up to the light it's translucent and looks brown...could it be glass? No idea how old it is either. Any help is welcome.

 

My guess is obsidian.
I love figas, they are so interesting. I have a few around here somewhere......

Maybe it's time for a tooth test,my guess would be water buffalo horn.

Yes it is cold, it also has a gold-ish sheen in places when turned in the light that I've been unable to capture in a photo, it's very subtle. Just noticed that today as it's a brighter day lol

 

Cold means stone is the most likely suspect. I don't think it is man-made glass. Obsidian is volcanic glass. I'm not saying it is definitely obsidian, but it could be.

There is a subtype of obsidian that has a golden sheen.

 

Yes! I have some gold sheen obsidian beads, the sheen on this is a lot more subtle though and I didn't put 2 and 2 together. I think you are right about obsidian. Thank you!
