A customer of mine has the bound typewritten manuscript for this book by L.L. Doggett. Also bound into the book is a handwritten one page autobiography written by the author written in German. He also has lots of handwritten notes, letters from Dogget's University in Germany, etc. L.L. Doggett was the Secretary of the State YMCA of Ohio at the time the book was published. He was also president of the International YMCA Training School -now Springfield College, MA - for 40 years.
Do you think there is a market for this? Or should he donate it to the YMCA? He does need money....

Contact a couple of the larger auction houses and see if they think there is a market.

    GaleriaGila Hola, y'all!

    What an exciting find.
I Googled that title, and did find a few hits, if you'd like to follow up... I didn't have time to look in detail. :)

Christie's, Sotherby's, Bonhams, any of the better known names. There might be other companies that specialize but all the auction houses hold historical document auctions. You can go to their websites and send photographs for an appraisal. Going on my own experiences, they have always responded within 48 hours.

I found that the appraisals are usually a bit lower than the actual values so that you don't set a high reserve.

Thanks Fig for the link about donating. He may be interested in doing that.
