This hand painted tray is 14 1/2" long and has a fairly common dogwood motif. The small mark on the bottom is a little blurry but I think it says Limoges and then possibly a maker. I've searched Gaston's Limoges book but don't see a mark like this. Can anyone decipher it?

    Thank you!

I think it might be hobbyist painted.

Would this shape be a fish platter?

Judging by the decoration and the handles it looks more like a celery. Still at 14 1/2" it's awfully long for a celery.

Does it have a little well either end?

No, no well (hmmm...that sounds Christmas-y, doesn't it?). I really don't know what it would have been used for. It's too long for a celery, and it's flat. The sides are only 1/4" high, though the handles swoop upward to 1 3/8". I think it would be pretty for petit fours or chocolates or tiny sandwiches, but that's just a guess.

A Latina coworker had a baby just a few days before Christmas. He got his name when a nurse came into her hospital room while her husband was also there & asked if they had a name for the baby yet. The husband started to say, in Spanish, that they did not, but when they heard the first 2 words, 'No, el....' both parents realized it was perfect.
