So, I picked up these teak tables at a sale for $50/each. Got them home and realized they're Moreddi. Seem to be in pretty good condition, one has some darkening on the top that is a bit concerning.

Question is....should I clean or polish them? Favorite products? I'm new to teak furniture so I'm not sure what I should do to get top dollar.

    Any thoughts on value? I saw something in the $200-$300 range (per table) but that might be a long shot....stamped 11 A 56 on bottom....manufacture date (1956?) 20250225_083136_copy_1000x750.jpg 20250225_083144_copy_1000x750.jpg 20250225_083157_copy_750x1000.jpg 20250225_083240_copy_1000x750.jpg 20250225_083245_copy_1000x750.jpg 20250225_083255_copy_750x1000.jpg

Those are very pretty! Definitely the MCM style those people love, and they're smaller so more manageable in the home. You may do better than you think!

LOVE these!!! What a great find!!!! We have used soapy water and white vinegar but those were pieces that were outdoor.

Yes, I saw them and had to take a gamble. I didn't know they were brand name until my husband picked them up and shot me a pic of the underside. I figured I'd at least get my $$ back!

There is no definitive fix for this. About the only way to really remove the dark staining will be by sanding. These have veneer tops so sanding is probably impractical. You are liable to sand through the veneers before you make any meaningful headway on the stain.

The other option would be to try and blend in the stains with some darker stain to the lighter parts. I don't know how successful this would be without at least removing the existing finish first if using a basic oil-based stain. A product like Watco danish oil finish comes in stain colors and could be used over existing finishes. If you could get it blended, you would probably want to clear-coat the entire top afterwards.

If adding any finish, be sure to clean any wax or polish from them first. Mineral sprits will do this. It should not cut the existing finish but may dull it a bit. This is not a problem if you are going to be adding finish afterwards.

Thank you Brad for the advice....you're such a pro! IDK if I want to tackle refinishing them, it scares me quite frankly.....I may just throw them on and see what happens. Is the stamp on the bottom the manufacture date you think? (as in, 1952?)

Could be a date but I know nothing of how this company marked things.

No, I don’t believe that is a date.
