    Hi all

Does anyone know the name of this piece by Meg Stevens please:

I know absolutely nothing about art. I'm presuming this is a print but can anyone confirm? In the bottom corner it says "85/600 Meg Stevens". Looks like it is handwritten on rather than printed but can't be sure. I was reluctant to remove it from the frame because I don't know what I'd be looking for, but if it would help at all I can.

    Many thanks

It does look like a limited edition print, signed in pencil by the artist. I'm not sure how you'd go about finding a title for this particular piece.

Here's an article about the artist when she passed away in 2012.

There are other bits and pieces of info on the web if you google her name.

I cropped and tried a reverse google image search but didn't get any hits:

Didn't at first anyhow - but just found this:

    http://oriel-y-felin.com/Prints/32/categories.aspx

An image of your print is on that page as the link to a page where you can order various prints from the artist - but the images on the page that displays the print titles are not displaying - I'm assuming it's one of them on that page though.

Well the mountain is Pen-y-fan in the Brecon Beacons.
    - at first I thought it was looking toward Brecon from the Storey Arms, but now I don't think so.
Then I thought maybe the view from the Tal-y-bont side but maybe not that either ..last guess would be a view from around the Mountain Centre.

Yes I grew up around there!!

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Could be "Edge of Barley Field"..........or not...

Interesting blooey... I didn't take it as Pen Y Fan because it seemed too peaky, whereas Pen Y Fan (and Corn Du) are - from most angles at least - iconically flat topped. Poetic/artistic license perhaps. Or a less familiar angle...

Well, that's all the more reason to find out exactly which painting it is, and from that hopefully find more background info.

Perhaps I'll start with an email to Oriel-Y-Felin...

    Thanks everyone

Hello. 4 years late but I’ve just bought the same print on eBay and it’s called “Beacons in October” :)

Me too, well, somewhat. Grandparents lived in the old Black Swan in Hay-on-Wye and had an Uncle who lived on a farm in the Black Mountains. Uncles were all over the shop, had one in Clifford and still lucky enough to have one in Clyro x
I love that whole area xx
    Quite miss ole' Blooey xxx
