Featured Metal necklace, rope chain (?) ... India or where from??

    Assuming vintage. I've got to think there are similar pieces out there but wasn't sure what keywords to use to search. It's 15" long. For a start do you call the end loops "rope chain"? Some work went into making it, but it's not silver. If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great! Thanks.

    Nepali, Bhutanese, Tibetan...or Hill Tribes?

    Why do you think it's not Silver?

    It doesn't feel like silver to me. I suppose I could test it, but it seems like some kind of base metal.

    I ask because I've had a couple yards of very similar 'rope chain' in the dark past...may, in fact, still have some of it, somewhere. It tested over .800 fine. It is extremely supple, as yours appears to be. Good luck!

    That's it Aznathalie. Thank you! I'm seeing others, not exact but multiple similarities when I google RAJASTHAN necklace. Thank you for the link. Some are saying silver, so I've got to see what is what!

    I believe that's foxtail chain, btw, not rope chain. Cool necklace.

    Wasn't sure what to call it --just made up "rope chain". Now seeing some sellers calling this a braided chain, will check out foxtail chain too. Thanks TieDye. :)
