Belknap's Milk Glass book (8th printing in 1977 - book originally published in 1949) shows this trunk on pg. 179. The text reads, "165c. Trunk with Straps: A late piece attributed to the French. Heavy with the slippery glaze of modern pieces. Watch out for this piece and don't pay more than a gift shop price."

    Thanks.
I would think it was French. There was a damage anyway and I did not buy it but wanted to check if it's not American pressed piece.
