Hello everyone - can anybody shed light on this biscuit jar? At least I think it's a biscuit jar. It stands about 7" tall. No mark on the base or metal. I'm trying to figure out a rough time frame and maybe a country of manufacture. Thanks for whatever insight you can provide.

    Thoughts only.
    White opaque glass.
European, because of the way the flowers are painted (I could be wrong)
    1800s

The hinged top doesn't speak biscuit jar to me. Vanity, Tea, Tobacco?

Can you see brush strokes or do you see dots where the flowers are?

Thanks for all your help folks. I considered Consolidated Con Cora Lines but the glass is wrong. Con Cora is usually almost whiter than white and my jar has is a little more translucent and has a gray tone to it. The believe the decoration is all hand-painted and there is a lot of gold outlining. I hadn't considered it might be a tobacco jar but that makes sense as a sponge could be inserted into the top very easily.

I obviously do not know the answer but would also look at Ables Wasserberg and Wheeling decorating companies.
