I didn't think it looked like carnival glass either, but then I have only dealt with a very few pieces of carnival glass. I didn't know whether that Carnival Heaven website was reputable. Thank you for suggesting the Doty site, Bev. I'll look around over there.

I just got a reply in from the seller about the US Glass connection. He/She said the info was from a WorthPoint listing. Wellll..... WorthPoint is anything but an expert. All they do is "ape" what someone else has put in an online description. It seems the WorthPoint listing connected US Glass because of the collar. They say the collar was a patented by US Glass and that the company was very protective of their patents <per McDonald, "Evolution of the Night Lamp">; therefore, "we'd guess" the lamp was made by US Glass. Excuse me for another welllll... That certainly is not a reliable source to say US Glass was the lamp maker. Those inset brass threaded glass collars were made by several companies. Here is the WorthPoint listing that mentions US Glass:

http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/antique-vaseline-glass-little-jewel-miniature-oil

--- Susan
