They're ~3 3/8" long, ~1 3/8" wide; the pair weigh ~2 1/5 oz. They're fairly high-fired; carved material, rather than cast, an' hollow clear to their tips. I've tried any number of alkaline & acid soakings to remove the stains an' apparent paint, all to no avail...they remain just as I got them, in the late '70s. My question about their origin has mostly to do with the 2 platforms on their soles. Seems like I've seen such clogs associated with Indonesia. Dutch influence is strong there, admittedly, which closes the European circle if so. Also Scandinavian peoples use similar clogs, but their toe-ends aren't as pointed, IIRC. What can y'all see, here? Thanks for lookin'!
