This interesting little knife was part of my Mom's collection. She liked all things small! The handle appears to be made of horn and brass. The blade of the knife is about 1 5/8" long. The sheath is made of leather and has tooling which is not so visible in the photos. The total length including the sheath is 3 1/2" long. Any thoughts on where it may have been made and age?

I’m confused about the sheath photo. What is that fin on the side?

Button hole,on a larger sheath the hole would be for a belt.

The "fin" is just a piece of leather that has been attached to the ring. Does not appear to be original to the sheath as it is different patina and different material. Thanks so much for all the comments. I went on the Jaeger platoon website and I think you are correct. I still think it is a horn handle as it has a grain to it which it would not would be expected with a plastic. Thanks again!

The handle is most likely reindeer antler.
