You can NEVER have enough silver - particularly when its as nice as your acquisitions!!

That reminds me, where is that stash of silver pens & pencils I have.............

I am thinking of getting a nice silver watch and chain in the future, so I'm actually actively selling some of my antiques to fund this project.

What would you expect something like this to cost you where you are? Late 19th C English fusee lever watch in a 3 ounce silver case with an average silver chain?

Typical cases are about 2 ounces so this is a bit heaver than usual but generally a typical watch?

Around here, a good-quality pocketwatch in a silver case would probably be $150-$300, not including a silver chain. Also, not including the servicing that the watch would require. So yes, it's a lotta money. One of the main reasons why I stopped collecting pocketwatches. The prices break my financial neck.
