Apologies for so many glass queries recently but I’ve only recently added glass to my interests after concentrating on ceramics for forty years.

Here are two acquisitions this week. The first is an incredibly tall candlestick (38cm tall). There is no pontil but it appears to be blown. I’ve not found another like it online.

The second is a bowl full of gold flecks. It’s 18cm wide x 8cm deep. Image searches suggest Murano is possible but I’d welcome your thoughts.

I haven't heard any complaints, and I don't think I will. You have an eye for beauty, whether ceramics or glass, so we enjoy it all.:)

I wonder if the candlestick is Swedish? Or Scandi?
Wait for the experts. Nice finds.

Looks like you're off to a flying' start, John...Glass is wunnerful, wunnerful!
The Bowl looks like a translucent sea creature, from either side! It's easy to visualize lots of motion at those curled edges.

The candle stick color and shape remind me of Wedgwood glass. But the color spots throw me. Love the bowl.

The blue ruffled bowl is typical of relatively mass made pieces for the tourist market. Murano. Nothing wrong with that. Bullicante with aventurine. Nice colours too. My retro fair friend sells them for thirty to forty quid.

the stick has overtones of Wedgwood Glass but it’s not theirs. The spatter is an odd addition. Hm.

Thank you . I will list the stick on eBay as unknown art glass. Everyone I've shown it to locally loves it.

It’s a very nice thing, I can see why they like it.

We don’t see much Blenko here, so that would make sense.

I have no intention of switching to glass (I'm deaccessioning now!) but I am looking at the glass posts because they're interesting and sometimes there's not many pottery/porcelain posts. Glass is a very cool medium and when I visited Seattle a couple of years ago, the Chihuly glass museum/demonstration was astounding!
