    the pics are too small to see anything but a few birds..
    r they wood...stone.....what ?
    is there any mark on the base?
    where did u find them
    what size are they

    do they fly ?

    The heads of the larger ones seem to be a variety of Geese.

    Oh this my reply got lost somehow, let’s try again…

    hopefully these photos are much more helpful! They are quite small, the photo of the hole in the bases are from the two larger ones. Found in the many boxes I’m trying to go through of my grandparents things!

    Horn that thick? I wouldn't want to face the bull!:eek::playful:
    It makes me think of Balinese carvings in light wood-roots.

    They do have an Indonesian look, but the eyes seem to be inlaid, which is more of an Indian thing.

    @keSla , could you tell us more about the material and if the eyes are inlaid or not please?
    Is there any translucency of the material in the thinner parts?
    Also, where did your grandparents live?

    They lived in Berkshire, England but did travel and always picked things up at sales and fairs.
    The eye are inlaid yes

    It has been a while since you started this thread, and a few days ago I saw a carving much like yours, but couldn't remember who posted it or when. I seem to remember it was from Laos.
