Darn! It didn't look like Jesus or Elvis.
It does look similar to the Shmoo, though.

No photos, they went with the last computer, but 5 years ago we bought a large metal case with some type of technical looking machine inside. Got it for $5.00. When we checked it out we found out it was some kind of an earthquake detector. We sold it to someone from M.I.T. for several hundred dollars. Second best was the very old douche bag we sold for over a hundred dollars. Never quite figured out why that particular one went so high.

A Gizmo is a part, or thing, that someone doesn't know or can't think of its name.

A g-dammit is my way of skirting the taking of the Lord's name in vain. :)

A medical book from the 1920's on congenital deformities & monsters, profusely illustrated with photographs. I couldn't go any further than a quick glance through before selling it.
Sold it at a Denver antique show to a professional body builder that collected medical paraphernalia.

I purchased a box lot for the commercial perfume bottles that were included. When I started going through everything, I determined that someone had cleaned out some old woman's vanity & had basically dumped everything into the box.

At the bottom of the box was a Lady Betty sanitary napkin belt still wrapped around its original cardboard that hung on the hook at the drugstore. It even had its 2 little brass pins still attached. :jawdrop::jawdrop:

I initially was going to pitch it but decided to check out an advertising angle.

One week later "Robert" from Spain had paid me $44.00 plus shipping for this item.:confused::confused:

This item is actually what started the "Greatest Finds" thread on eBay's PG&P board. Someone decided if I could get that much money for that item, there had to be more crazy money items out there. I have a notebook full of all types of things that were mentioned on that thread & have made money on things I would never had looked at twice just because someone was generous enough to share with others.:happy::happy:
