Featured Mr Punch Terracotta Tile Belgium

This 18cm x 14cm terracotta tile turned up in a mixed lot.

It depicts Mr Punch brandishing a sword. He is nicely glazed in a majolica like glaze.

The mark reads simply MADE IN BELGIUM

It’s probably worth nothing but I hate it when I can’t find when and where something was made and, despite his grotesque appearance, he is actually quite well made.

Any ideas welcome as always

I have seen majolica tiles from Belgium ascribed to Hasselt, not sure if that is a maker or region though.

I tweaked the mark. It looks like there may be a letter or letters in the middle. H perhaps. I found two Belgian tile makers Heimixen and Helman but none of their tiles look like this although Heimixen and Helman did use circular impressed marks.
