Featured multi coloured drip glaze vase

    hi folks

    found this nice vase today, in a friends house removal shop
    thought it was a piece of awiji pottery (my fave) at first but not

    canny find anything with the merzay sideware title

    underneath in small think it says the midland pottery co
    cant find much about them though

    cant make out the signature either, Anthony ....something

    good size 9 by 7 inches

    1930s ish ?

    any thoughts appreciated

    Searching Merzayside Ware returns 2 items, but no designer information. And searching Merzayside Ware Anthony returns nothing.

    The items to be found are described as "high fired banded glaze" and dated to the '30s.

    Nice score; I can't imaging there's a lot of it around, given the time period and what else was going on.

    the form is earlier. von Schwarz in Nürnberg had similar during Jugendstil.

    Ruthie like! I'd cheerfully make off with the top two or the last one on the bottom. Or the other two. :)

    The stamp on Charlie's looks like Anthony Bagt..something. Tried googling it and found this thread. Really helpful Google!
