It's an old German dresser with neo-gothic carvings from circa 1885-1890.
First picture shows it still in the shop.

Almost looks like it would go into a kitchen for storage like cupboards

Here's another one (not mine). This is the real thing, an early one from the 1870's.

Mine is a later eclectic one with a little weaker quality, but still great enough.

It's a nice one! Here in the US we would call this a sideboard or a buffet with hutch..

Nice! So how big IS your house? That's a dresser? Like to store clothing in? Or is it a difference in meaning like verybrad said and this is a dining room piece?

It looks very nice. How did you move it? (Don't let Shangas see that mortar and pestle.)

It's a sideboard (cupboard). English is not my first language so i often can't express myself properly.

There's HUGE market for these in my country. As for other countries, i have no idea. These cupboards are from Germany and Austria, there are so many that maybe they're bored with them and try to get rid of them:)

How many big, strong men did it take to carry it inside?

I'd expect the top part to come away from the base to move it. What country are you in?
