I'll add that some find the term 'lazy line' derogatory, as there's nothing 'lazy' about Navajo weavings. 'Section line' can be used instead, in that case.

I started with an interest in Pueblo pottery, and these weavings are sorta 'adjacent', so I started collecting these too.

And as I did, I became a true believer: the artistry, sophistication, and fine-ness of these weavings continue to inspire me.

I'm pretty sure mine is authentic. There's no ends woven back into it, the side selvage cord is present, and the weave is so even and solid-- it certainly feels and looks right to me. Not hand spun wool, but still authentic.

I have numerous Zapotec ones too.

    Thanks!

It's weird you wouldn't see them in BC, but maybe the border is more of a barrier. That, and there's such a tradition of First Nations art that maybe there's less of a market.

And speaking of the border, I'll take this opportunity to apologize to the good people of Canada for the way my country has been treating you all lately.

Ditto Pott- Our trip to Victoria & the Gulf Islands a few years back was great and the Canucks delightful. We popped into a little Farmers Mkt & Country Fair on a little isle in the Gulf chain and the locals were sweet as could be-some of their ancestors had been there since the 19th century.

and while we're having a moment........ we Canadians enjoy our good friends to the south...... even way down South....... but we have to stand our ground .... & take the hit from your leaders , & while we have no wish to cause you guys any dire problems...... if you slap us in the face, in front of the whole world........
we're going to bring up our hockey stick right into your puffy pouch !!
