Mysterious Silver-edged Wallet

    Picked this up in the country while out fossicking for antiques. I don't recognise the hallmarks at all.

    It's marked "STERLING" on the clasp, but the corners are marked with something else.

    (925) for sterling silver.
    [L.K] for the maker's mark, presumably.
    (e), presumably a date-letter of some kind.

    And then there's just a triangle.

    I've never heard of, or seen, any hallmark that was just a triangle. Where does it come from??

    It is Arts & Crafts style, related to Art Nouveau.
    Yes, it is, of some kind.:playful: 1904, so still nicely in the Arts & Crafts period.

    I learned a new word today-Fossick! I love this word. I have fossils in my creek bed. Now I can ask my granddaughters if they would like to fossick for Fossil!:happy:
