18 carat is standard gold content in my country (Belgium) and also in France, I believe our close relatives the Netherlands have 14 carat as a standard.
20 or more carat is something you almost never see in our culture.

Exactly-18K,not too soft or brassy,it's stunning when you see someone a pair of earrings.

The pearl necklace is very nice, too, and very unusual with this dragon or snake or whatever it is, clasp.

Here we don't even have thrift stores, nor garage or boot sales. Only a couple of flea markets. And it is a miracle to find anything different from Czech glass and Soviet amber.
