    I’ve asked the machinists even though I think this was for some kitchen or home-shop use. Many machinists despise aluminum when used in tools; they call it “shiny wood.”

    i posted on papaws tool talk,nothing definitive,the groove is not a 90 degree,its less?,,,,one suggested saw set?

    I believe it is for deburring sheet metal edges.

    Some kind of window latch or door latch? As Greg said, it reminds me of an old ice box handle.

    Glazier’s muntin scraper, latest guess from machinist forum. I like that answer. If that’s what it is, it may have come with a set of variously-shaped, changeable blades.

    i like.....for removing the old and cleaning up....not for tooling the new?....back in the day i used a putty knife....

    I used a single edge razor blade clamped to a paint scrapper.
