This was something I found last week

I picked it up, put it back down again

Guy said it was only a fiver so bought it anyway, and I do like a lighthouse

Not accomplished work, but might sell if I can find a location

They only clue might be that it was framed in pontypool in wales

The print on the back is dated 1928

But thought the framing label looked older

Only liddle, painting measures 5 by 7"

Can't take it apart as the label is on a paper backing

    Any thoughts appreciated

Don't know if that colour behind the lighthouse is sea or land ?

    Looks more green than blue

    Nice @charlie cheswick .
Is there some writing on the bottom right. I'm seeing something but the rocks are so dark.

That area is water, Charlie. Looks darker because of shadow I think.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

A Very sweet little picture, Charlie!!!!! I too think he was trying to blend shading the sea, like he did below, in FRONT of the little island!! But up there, you have the top of the island dividing the shading.....

@charlie cheswick, Mikey pointed it out first, but I see it too.....any chance you can take a really clear image of just the area that I've circled in RED on your image..... it sure LOOKS like a possible signature (and of course it might not be!!!), but worth a shot anyway!!! I tried enlarging, but can't make it clear...and of course, it may be nothing!!! BUT it looks like letters!!!

I think the difference in colour maybe if it’s a shallow bay it would be a different colour to the sea

    Great shout thanks Dave

Older pictures of it seem to show a similar housing building in front

Or an artist who mumbled when he/she signed it?
